We all respond to the crush of events the best way we know how. In the wake of the mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde, I wanted to channel the turmoil I was feeling in some productive way, and what came out of those efforts was an exploration of our national death wish in a hybrid mashup of verse, images, and video that I just posted on Medium. I just checked my Amazon stats for the first time and my book's sales rank is 4,334,439 [sic], down 2,391 spots from yesterday. On the upside, the kindle edition is ranked 3,052,908, up 4,818 spots from yesterday. No clue what any of that means in terms of actual sales, except that I'll need a powerful telescope to see the bestsellers' list from either place.
