Young man (20s-30s, approaching me on sidewalk, smiling): Good morning!

Me: Good morning!

YM: Yesterday was my birthday, so I'm in a good mood.

Me: Well happy birthday! [Then turning back to him after we've passed each other] Did anyone sing to you?

YM: Yes ma'am, my mom did.

Me: That's perfect!
