Summer is going out on a high note: the past few days have featured some achingly beautiful days. The three tree pix are from one of my favorite places in Pgh, Frick Park, this afternoon. The flower pix are actually from a week and a half ago, in the front yard of a house nearish to the park, but certainly capture the essence of our late summer.

During a quick walk early this afternoon, a gent pulled up beside me and asked me if I were going to the meeting on the deer population [sic] next Monday night? I said no. He said "Okay just curious" and drove on. Weirdest pickup line ever? 😶

When you have a taste for cardamom cake and your work shift ends four hours early so you can run to the co-op for the buttermilk and then swing by Wine & Spirits to restock your supply of gin because no one should bake completely sober...this happens. 👇😋
