'Twas an eventful day:

 

(1) Ready to leave Pgh for Boston with my road duck. (As I was leaving my apartment, I overheard the parsley plants telling him, "Don't worry, she's mostly harmless.")

 

(2) Summary of my trip: rain and fog > sunshine > rain > sun/clouds > Biblical flood rains with lightning from northern CT most of the way to Boston. Total driving time 12+ hours. I pulled over at one point under an overpass to wait out a particularly heavy downpour, and since duck was impatient to continue, I showed him what we were up against. He affirmed my decision in his inimitable way: "That's a nasty looking bubble bath."
