I pinched this vintage piece of cookware from my mom's basement on one of my drives up to Maine last year since I didn't have a crockpot or anything comparable. Based solely on the design, I'm guessing it's at least 40 years old, but it still works great. I've used it a few times now, most recently (yesterday) for a farro-sausage concoction topped with parmesan, mozzarella, and a pan toasted panko topping. It's a multi-step recipe—thus a time commitment with the clean-up since the only dishwasher I have is me—and perhaps a bit heavy for summer, but it's one of those recipes that you don't say no to when you're in the mood for it.
