An essay I wrote a couple of years ago was just accepted for publication by the Montreal-based journal The Nelligan Review. The essay is called “‘I Remember…’ (A Bay, Ten Acres, and an Old Farmhouse).” It's structured as a sort of guided walking tour, and uses memories of the farmhouse and surrounding environs in eastern Maine where I spent my early childhood as the materials for a collage of the creature I was at that time. As with a lot of the essays I've written the past several years, the drafting of it led me to some unexpected revelations. I'm very fond of it, and thrilled that the journal liked it too. Yippee!
